Knowledge Centres > Adult Learning > Our Work
By Renée R. Davis and Kathleen Flanagan
In Canada, the state of adult learning is a complex and intricate system; a broad spectrum of opportunities ranging from formal to informal activities where the path for lifelong learners is not always obvious. The Adult Learning Knowledge Centre (AdLKC) spent four years documenting and testing this system with the goal to finding pathways for Canadians to reaching their full potential.
To fulfill that goal, AdLKC pursued knowledge and community links in four key areas of interest: literacy, seniors' learning, arts and culture and prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR). Further areas of interest included Aboriginal learning and late-entry to post-secondary education.
Resources
Within this document, all AdLKC programs and activities are listed and described. They include a knowledge exchange program, speakers program, human rights poster competition, roundtables, community outreach initiatives, research reports, adult learning videos and symposia.
