Launch of the 21st Century Initiative in Canada

To launch the Canadian branch of the 21st Century Learning Initiative, CCL is sponsoring a conference, Learning and the Community, on September 12-13 in Toronto. NGOs, policy makers, practitioners and academics will have the opportunity to learn about the Initiative from its founder and CEO, John Abbott. The Initiative synthesizes research into the nature of human learning and examines its implications for education, work, and the development of communities.

CCL’s President and CEO, Paul Cappon stated: “CCL and the 21st Century Learning Initiative share a common goal of promoting effective learning practices and policies. Establishing this partnership can only improve both of our organizations’ effectiveness. ”

The conference will be followed by a series of intensive training workshops across Canada led by John Abbott. The first series of workshops are:

  • Toronto, September 14-16, 2005
  • Fredericton, September 20-22, 2005.
