Another Step Toward the Creation of the Adult Learning Knowledge Centre

CCL has launched the Application process for the creation of its Adult Learning Knowledge Centre. Organizations interested in acting as lead organization of a consortium are asked to submit an application by June 21, 2005. The application document is available on CCL’s website and on the following electronic bidding websites: Merx, www.merx.com WebBid www.unicom-systems.com BidNavigator www.bidnavigator.com and bidsCanada www.bidscanada.com

In addition to the Application form, the document contains an overview of the Knowledge Centre’s role and structure, CCL’s expectations of the consortium members, and supporting documents to be completed by other participants in the consortium. Respondents are asked to read all accompanying documents carefully to ensure they understand the requirements.

“The high level of interest that organizations and individuals have shown in the creation of the Adult Learning Knowledge Centre bodes well for all the knowledge centres,” says Paul Cappon, CCL President and CEO. “The level of discussion at the development conference in Halifax, and the sheer number of responses to the call for Expressions of Interest convince me that we will succeed in our goal of improving the quality and accessibility of research and exemplary practices, leading to better opportunities for adult learners across Canada.”

CCL has engaged the services of Partnering and Procurement Inc. to assist with the process. The application processes for the other knowledge centres will be launched at a later date.

For more information about the Application process, please contact Ann Arsenault at Partnering and Procurement Inc.

Response to Call for Expressions of Interest Available on CCL Website

CCL received over 130 Expressions of Interest in the creation of its five Knowledge Centres. The responses are now available for viewing on our website. Each of the five Knowledge Centres will deal with a specific learning domain:

  • Adult Learning in the Atlantic region
  • Early Childhood Learning in Quebec
  • Work and Learning in Ontario
  • Aboriginal Learning in the Prairies, Northwest Territories and Nunavut
  • Health and Learning in British Columbia and the Yukon.
