CCL releases Report on the State of Early Childhood Learning
While the state of early childhood development in Canada seems sound, the Canadian Council on Learning (CCL) is calling for a comprehensive strategy to gather more and better data on how our youngest Canadians learn.
The report states that if gaps in knowledge on early childhood learning are not addressed, emerging challenges may be overlooked and effective tools to address learning challenges may not be developed.
“Children are our country’s future,” said Dr. Paul Cappon, CCL's President and CEO. “We believe it is essential to know more about how well our children are learning during the crucial period of the first five years of life.”

CCL has issued a request for proposals for applied research projects in health and learning conducted in Canada. Not-for-profit organizations, community-based organizations, labour organizations and research or academic institutions interested in responding to this RFP may submit their proposals by 4:30 p.m. (PDT), Nov. 16, 2007.
