What are government and university funding policies for International Students?

Five academic databases and twenty-four websites were searched in an effort to retrieve publicly accessible documents outlining various government and university funding policies for international students. 

Results from the above searches were scarce (19).  Further investigation determined that the time and resource constraints implicit in the Question Scan procedure do not lend themselves to the acquisition of such documents. 

Based upon the 19 documents that met the inclusion criteria, a few key observations are made with reference to the sources and types of funding available to international students, and some of the funding issues and changes taking place in the past decade.

Further research in this domain would require reviewers to focus their search at the institutional level since most post-secondary institutions have offices and websites dedicated to international students, and most publish yearly reports that include reference to various university policies, including those aimed at international students.
