Since the launch of the 21st Century Learning Initiative (Canada) in September 2005, John Abbott has delivered keynote addresses, led workshops, and participated in planning sessions across Canada.
Keynote presentations have been delivered at two Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC) events, a National Learning Summit on Middle Childhood, and Saskatchewan and British Columbia Superintendents’ association conferences.
Dozens of provincial workshops and district presentations have occurred in New Brunswick, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Manitoba.
In May 2007, CCL co-hosted a student conference with the Ministry of Education and 10 British Columbia school districts that have worked with the 21st Century Learning Initiative (Canada). Sixty students from the 10 school districts came together with school and district staff to network and explore next steps with John Abbott and Heather MacTaggart.
