SHOWCASE 2008 will be one of the largest educational gatherings ever held in Saskatchewan and will coincide with the 75th Anniversary of the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation. School divisions will be attending in two-day blocks in either Regina or Saskatoon. We are expecting more than 11,500 participants.
We will be offering 30-40 small group sessions during SHOWCASE 2008 in addition to five keynote presentations. Small group sessions will all be two hours long, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, for each of the two-day sessions of SHOWCASE 2008 (one two-day session in Saskatoon and two two-day sessions in Regina). Four-hour sessions (two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon) could be offered.
There are many exciting things happening at the classroom level, school level, school division level, provincial level, post-secondary level, within First Nations communities and the educational community at large. Sharing these things with others from across the province is what SHOWCASE 2008 is all about!
There will be a presentation by Dr. Marie Battiste, Co-Director and Rita Bouvier, Coordinator of the Aboriginal Learning Knowledge Centre (Saskatoon) entitled “Exploring Aboriginal Learning: A National Project of the Canadian Council on Learning”.
