Interactive information session on the Composite Learning Index on January 18, 2006
CCL is inviting key stakeholders in the field of learning to participate in an interactive information session on the Composite Learning Index, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on January 18, 2006, at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa.
"During this session, we will present the framework for the index," says Marc Lachance, Associate Director, Monitoring and Reporting at CCL, who is responsible for designing Canada’s first-ever Composite Learning Index. "We hope that it will spark a vigorous dialogue on the state of learning in Canada."
For those interested but unable to attend in person, a dial-in option is being offered for the presentation portion of the information session.
If you wish to participate, please complete the registration form available on CCL’s website and return it by e-mail or by fax to (613) 782-2956 by January 11, 2006. Please clearly indicate whether you intend to attend in person or by phone. For more information about the event, contact Sheena Powell at (613) 786-3230, ext. 217.
CCL receives overwhelming response to call for proposals for structured learning research projects
The Canadian Council on Learning’s call for proposals for structured learning elicited 76 proposals, requesting contributions in excess of $16 million.
The volume of proposals has created a need for a greater number of peer reviewers than had volunteered in response to our initial call for reviewers. Each proposal is reviewed independently by six people, and CCL has therefore had to secure the participation of additional reviewers. As a consequence, the notification date, originally proposed for January 10, 2006, will now be postponed to January 30, 2006, at the earliest.
CCL regrets this delay. For more information, please contact Doug MacLeod, Associate Director, Research and Knowledge Mobilization.
