CCL publishes survey on elementary and secondary school learning

While the majority of Canadian parents said elementary schools and high schools are meeting or exceeding their expectations, the annual Survey of Canadian Attitudes toward Learning released by CCL on November 26 revealed that many parents think schools are not doing enough to prepare their children for the realities of the workplace. This survey's results are based on telephone interviews with 5,361 Canadians to gauge their opinions, perceptions and beliefs about various aspects of learning in Canada's schools, including homework, tutoring, language immersion and bullying. CCL releases its report on Aboriginal learning

On November 20, CCL published its first report on Aboriginal learning: Redefining How Success is Measured in First Nations, Inuit and Métis Learning. CCL and its Aboriginal Learning Knowledge Centre, in partnership with Aboriginal organizations in Canada, collaborated on the development of three Holistic Lifelong Learning Models for First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities. The models offer a holistic approach to measurement that recognizes the many aspects of individual and collective lifelong learning among Aboriginal people in Canada. More details on the report »
