Prescription for good health found in daily reading, new evidence shows

CCL's new report, Health Literacy in Canada: A Healthy Understanding reveals that the single best predictor of higher levels of health literacy is the act of reading every day—even more so than a person's level of education.

Health literacy refers to an individual’s ability to access and interpret information relating to their own health, and their capacity to make well-informed decisions about their health. This report examines the relationship between levels of health literacy and health outcomes. Go to report »

Lessons in Learning: The Benefits of Experiential Learning

Young adults in Canada are among the most highly educated young people in the world, but classroom-based post-secondary education does not necessarily impart all of the skills that employers demand. CCL's Work and Learning Knowledge Centre explores the state of school-to-work transitions in Canada

Making Bridges Visible: An Inventory of Innovative, Effective or Promising Canadian School-to-Work Transition Practices, Programs and Policies, authored by Donnalee Bell and Elaine O’Reilly of the Canadian Career Development Foundation, contains 44 entries about school-to-work programs for school-leavers, high-school or post-secondary graduates. Designed to be a living resource, readers are encouraged to submit programs or policies to the inventory. Learn more »
