Practically Speaking—Nunavut Sivuniksavut: Bringing Inuit culture to the classroom
For the majority of young people, the first few months following high school graduation are fraught with decisions that can affect the rest of their lives. This is especially true for Inuit youth, who are confronted with unique cultural challenges if they undertake post-secondary studies outside of their often-remote hometowns.
For more than 20 years, the Nunavut Sivuniksavut Training Program has been helping Inuit high-school graduates cope by offering a unique program that balances academics, real-world life skills and Inuit culture and heritage. Go to article »
